Guild Projects / Challenges:
The challenge 2009 'Something to keep you warm II' started recently:

"It's that time again! This year we decided to stick with the same theme, to enable our very ambitious participants to finish, while setting a new challenge for anyone who wants to join in new this time around. The purpose of the challenge is to help you challenge yourself both by learning a new stitch and improving your research skills, in order to do more authentic work!
Items can include anything that you use to keep you warm, such as hats, gloves, coats and cloaks.

Challenge Requirements: The embroidery should also be done at least 25% in a medieval stitch not normally used by you and/or 25% in new documented design elements. The project challenge is open to everyone, so please email us to be put on the list of participants and to be invited to join the challenge blog! And keep in mind that the challenge isn't limited to one item per person, if you've got the motivation feel free to make more!

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Anya, Racaire and Jahanara"

If you would like to participate please contact Mistress Anya, Lady Jahanara or me. :)

Misc. Projects / Challenges:
- A&S 50 Challenge - it would still be great to see more artisans from our beautiful kingdom joining this challenge.
- A&S 50 Challenge Drachenwald Blog - ...a blog where the participants of the A&S 50 Challenge living in Drachenwald may share their works, ask questions, encourage each other and generally support one another along the way.
- A Crafty Challenge - ...I got to know about a lovely little challenge called "A Crafty Challenge", that is spreading like fever around the internet and supported by some needlework, pottery, costuming,... bloggers whom blogs I read regulary and I would like to let you know about this challenge too, because I think its a great fun and some of you could be interested (sorry, but my list for gifts is full by now):
To join this challenge just post following text at your blog:

"The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
- What I create will be just for you.
- It'll be done this year.
- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you have to put this in your journal as well. We all can make stuff!"

...and watch out for participants who still are waiting for their fifth person to respond... - ...yeah, we all can make stuff and last but not least: don't forget to have fun! :)

...and now a short update concerning the Pennsic Giftbasket - if you would like to read the text with the basic information about the Pennsic Giftbasket again:

Pennsic giftbaskets update

So you have made this wonderful thing that will be part of the Pennsic giftbasket.
But who will ever see the beautiful thing you made and will the recipent know who the artist was?
It is important that you include a note stating at least your SCA name and perhaps an e-mail address so that the Drachenwald Crown can thank you properly for your contribution and if you can – add some details about the materials and techniques used – some documentation is always very appriciated! Your e-mail address will also make it possible for the recieving Crown to send you a thank you note after they have gotten the fabulous Drachenwald giftbasket.

Also, if you make it to Double Wars or if you can send your contribution to the giftbasket with someone attending the event – your item will be put on the giftbasket display!
This is done so that we all will know what great things are being sent off to Pennsic and what skilled artisans this Kingdom has!

Thank you once again for answering this call for aid. Your work is very appriciated!

_____~*~ end of message ~*~_____

Please keep on sharing your wonderful work - regardless if embroidery, woven tapestry, illumination, wood-, leather- or metal-work,.. every project is a great inspiration for other people!

Yours in Service
